well the misus decided to tell me today that the clutch pedal/cable has been sqeaking for about 2 months, god damn women shouldnt own cars if they dont give a s**t!, anyways, had a look it aint the pedal, it is the actual clutch, (cant think of the actual name at the moment, but the pin that slides too and frow, maybe clutch slave cylinder/shaft?)
so i sprayed all around the cable leading to it and all over shaft/pin, even though it is covered in a rubber shoe, something might have gotten in It is still making a bastard of a squeaking noise, not bad, but very annoying, how cxan i fix this, can i get i special type of lube, or is it just grease, or something else? any help please, cause now that the missus has told me about it, it has to be done ASAP, otherwise all hell will break loose. EDIT: The car is a '89 telstar cheers BEN

take off the boot around the clutch and see if you can spray some stuff in there but put a small tube on the nosell so it dont go onto the clutch. se how that goes

if the noise is coming from inside the bell housing it is more than likely the throwout bearing one way to test this is when stationary in neutral rest your foot on the clutch pedal and start pressing down slowly if noise goes away when depressing this will be the problem dont spray anything inside the bell housing because if anything gets on the clutch it will cause slipping
