Just thought I'd write a few comments on the Madison tyres
that I'm running on the EB. They are 225/60/15's.

Ive found that they perform well for me and wear even better.
2 of them are still on my car, as when I bought it, and have done
50000k. I have already been through 2 GT Radials and then replaced
them with an additional pair of Madisons, whilst the original pair remain.

At $118 each, I think they are great value. I understand that they
are made by Bridgestone in Australia.

I guess they are not true "performance" tyres, but for my driving
where I push it a little now and then and do 500k a week, they are great.
In the wet, I take it a bit easy as I figure there is fair bit of water to shed
in a 225 width. Other more expensive tyres probably do the wet better, but these are good for me.

Hope these comments are useful.

I used to have 225 GT radials on my EA... those were good tyres. Still looked brand new after almost a year of driving. Plus they were grippy as hell.

Madisons are the "NEW" Bridgestone G3's.
IMO the are a hard, VERY hard and long wearing tyre but ABSOLUTELY useless in the wet... its like runnning a 5l windsor with 195 razors on the rear.
if i were keeping to a 15" rim, i'd change them imediatley and go a softer compound.
but value for wear, they are an outstanding tyre, but as you said, not a true performer.

very f**k dangerous in the wet, slightest bit of water on the road and my old XF used to slide worse than on wet gravel.....
