Hi folks, what is the best way of getting the inner bushes of the lower control arm out?

1: hacksaw off ends of bushes

2 etc.: ?????

I gotta press 8-)

Yeah, sorry, a wagon. Front lower control arm. The one that joins onto the "K" frame (and helps stop the wheel from falling off :lol: )

The manual says to hacksaw the ends off, and then use special tool number such and such. I reckon I might be able to press out the rubber bit, and the cut out the sleeve. But I can't figure out how to hold the end. There isn't much to rest onto under a press.

From memory when I didn't have access to a press, I cut the ends off with a cutting disc, then drilled some holes around the crush tube, and knocked the tube out.
Then I think I got the rubber section out, and with a chisel, cut through the sleeve without damaging the arm.
For that part, you could get a pipe the size to fit over the sleeve, and press it and the rubber out.
