Hey all,

I finally got this fixed today. The car was almost undrivable when i took it in too. Plenty of grinding gears.

I took jrfttf's advice and had a plate welded onto the firewall to give it the extra strength and to ensure it dosent happen again.

All up it set me back $230 drive in, drive out. Breakdown as follows:

Booster Removal - $55
Welding of firewall and plate - $150
Fit Clutch Cable and Adjust - $20
Bushes for Clutch Cable - $5

Plus Clutch cable from ford that I purchased - $97.00(ish)

I have to say the clutch feels better than ever. Gone is the rock hardness. It was like that from the day I got it and to have it soft now is great.

Below is a pic of the job they did. Looks very good too. The have layed a thin layer of stikaflex ove the plate and painted it white. Its not "factory" looking but it dosent grab attention.

Thanks for everyones advice and help on this one.

Cheers,
Woody.
