Hey everyone.
Just wondering what experience other people have had with various brake pad manufacturers. Personally the only 2 brands I trust and do a good job are Bosch and Bendix. Every other brand I've tried either marks the hub, squeels like theres no tomorrow or makes a grinding noise. Superstop and kelvar pads and ones off ebay are all s**t. Also whenever I have had brake pads changed at a mechanic - they always put s**t a** pads on there that i have to change in a month anyway (because of loud squeeling etc)\ What brands do you guys love / hate?

Only ever used Bendix (advance) never had any problems with them, so no need to try others.

Bendix I've found to be good, but often squeel.
Ferrodo I've found to be good, obviously not there cheapies (Zeros and Target), but there migher models (Excel, Formula Ferrodo, etc.). |

Eeexactly - IIRC, all brake pads come from the one factory in Australia.

Ferrodo and Bendix make them seperately. I'm pretty sure that Silverlines are made by one of those two though... |

iv had ferrodo's before, they came with the car when i bought it. the excels are what i have, the dust is shocking on them but they stop me in no time. and cheap as chips too only paid $55 fronts and same for the backs. only thing i dont like is sometimes they have a tendancy to squeel....

$55 seems a bit steep. My bosch ones were only $42 a set

Well utimates wear the ROTORS down HARD core (go & look in my user gallery to slotted rotors not slotted) & lucas are s**t.
I currently have ferrodo zero's on front & back & that was in Oct last year so I have good usage so far

i use to have bendix ultimates with drilled/slotted rotors on my xr8 and within 12 months (about 30.000kms) they had worn the rotors down like the ones in ben_daui's galery.. so i had to replace the pads and rotors...
now on my ea it has hd long life rotors from ford and ferodo pads and it stops as good as the drilled/slotted set up i had on the xr8 and there is no wear on the rotors yet and the pads still have about 70% left.. the only thing is that there is a bit more dust on the rims with the ferodo pads.. so im happy with the ferodo's and they only cost $55 where i paid $80 for the ultimates... |

i've never had a bendix pad that didn't get extremly bad fade with only a few hard stops.
i use QFM racebrakes pads they well out perform any bendix pad i've used |

I've got bendix something. Good brakes, no squeal, but I wish my brake pedal was more stiff (ie. didn't have to press down a cm to get an effect).

Bendix advance, good stopping, no squeal, and very low dust, but I drive like a nanna.
