As title says: I have recently lowered my EF XR8 on superlows with new shocks camber kit etc. Now im starting to hear a creaking noise while turning when applying brakes. Any ideas? I'm planing a nolathane upgrade for the whole car as it's still 12yo bushes etc. Defo not balljoints as they are new. Possibly worn control arm bushes grinding?

i had similar problems with stock height----- -3.5deg both sides.so the top of the wheels where laying in heaps,castor\camber kit got it back to -1 deg==ran out of adjustment.note this set up is used for racing, but very hard on tyres.i got a spare k-frame and welded all the seams, added a 6mm skid plate on the back half---they flatten out on speed humps, then rebushed the whole lot-nolathane,and still had the -1deg,it only changed when i replaced the brakes to el gt spindles,to--= ==-0.25deg,super lows -i dont know about adjustment problems, the bushes would be inner---top and bottom, arm 79 has a group buy for nolathane bushes or ebay,i swapped the k frame with motor in and takes 2 people and some jacks,i also found my engine mounts where shot and changed the welsh plugs and removed the sump with the k frame out.

well as I installed a camber kit, it is possible I didn't torque the upper control arm bolts properly? Will check it tomorrow. Already had to retoque shock bolts on the rear cos they weren't tight enough.

Did you undo all the bush bolts and retighten them at the new stock ride height.

Remember rubber bushes are held captive, and if you didn't reset them your stretching the inner pin and the rubber attached to it and it will make creaking noises as you are finding.

Loose upper control arm bolts will cause a knock when driving.

EF XR's has a urethane lower inner bush, but typically they would have been replaced with rubber by now as the factory originals perish quite quicky. Noises on braking could be worn caster rod bushes.

It would be a good idea to try loosen and retighten the bolts and see if that rids the problem.

As for the kit, its not mine. Mitch has already fully paid for it, so you'd have to negotiate the sale with him. I still have them at my place, I haven't posted them yet.

If you organise the cash swapover with him, I can post direct to you instead of sending to Queensland.
