I am wondering what makes a reasonably loud creeking sound when I go over bumps or turn sharply? I am leaning towards it being the suspension but I'm not quite sure? The sound seems to be alot louder and more noticeable after driving in the rain then seems to be not so bad after a day or so of the car being dry?
I know it's seemingly trivial but random noises coming from your car can be irritating and I like to be sure it's not something on its way out. Cheers, Shane. |

Without looking at it myself, it could any number of things....Ball joints, tie rod ends, rack ends, swaybar D bushes, swaybar link bushes, upper wishbone bushes, lower inner control arm bushes, lower shockie bushes, strut-bar bushes.............

My EF wagon creaks and groans whenever it goes over speed humps, etc.
I thought that simply meant it was a Ford? After all, my dad's XT Falcon used to do that too, when I drove it in the late 70s. Some things never change?

My EL wagon creaks but I've found out why....I need new leaf spring bushes.

Like someone said re am older XT Falcon, its just about standard at least on an older Ford...I went nuts trying to track mine down, worse after rain, mine turned out to be dry upper control arm bushes. Greased them up and it went away - comes back after a few months or a fair bit of rain, just grease them up again...not sure if that applied to your model but wrth checking out..
