Yes, you can get them, but at a min cost of $1500 for a kit, which is often as much as the total car is worth, not many are prepared to fork out for it.
I would love that sort of kit, but can't justify it. Cheers BenJ

Isent there are sort of test that can be done on pads and disc rotors to see how hard/soft and material there made of then u can match them up??? would be a awsome article for any magazine out there

The kits on ebay are useless, you need 17" wheels minimum and 7" wide max for the e-series. Most people have 17x8.

There are ways.. it's just really expensive.
Next time you have your calliper off, take a look at the upright.. it has jutting metal making sure that the disk cannot be any bigger than it is with the standard disk. So to upgrade, you have to change the upright too. Also, the E series and prior is an older offset and older generally means smaller disks. You can try to source EL GT stuff.. but good luck with finding it and not paying a fortune. |

Yeh, or you could keep you're E series rims. If you can get them in pre-AU, its pretty much guaranteed that theyre available in AU+ offset.
Either way, theres nothing wrong with running spacers, I've had no issues with mine for like 3 years now. |

Its biggest issue is legality.

I read on some other site (there was a link here somewhere) that a guy was having custom lower control arms made up, again at a very high price, to use the AU set up. Whats the main difference, if its just the lower control arm, is there a lower control arm we could use off another make/model? does anyone have any photos of the actual differences that is stopping the AU set up being used on the E series? cheers |

The ball joints on an E series is on the upright.
In an AU the ball joints are on the upper and lower control arms. The guy having the lower control arms machined up is doing so at his own cost, so far as I understand, well over the $2500 mark. He had CAD drawings done using an EB inner to AU outer and then paid for them to be machined up on a 5 axis CNC. Once the final design is done, he hope to get a group buy set up for others to be able to purchase their own hybrid lower control arms for around the $1200 mark per set. This would allow owners to use what ever brake combo they wish from AU11 onwards, and you will have AU offset too. Cheers BenJ

You just would never get me to use dba rotors ,ever......i use brembo rotors or nothing on the front of my ed ....had 2 sets of dbas before..front and rear ....great if you like shudder after only a few 1000ks
Yes the seals were seated correctly...yes there were new pads fitted...yes they were run in correctly yes I used new bearings and set them correctly....since the brembos no probs..ever !!!! |
