Just wondering if someone was able to tell me if the standard calipers fit on DBA cross drilled and slotted rotors for EF/EL with ABS.

Andrew - yeah the rotors are warped due to the bushes, tie rod ends, bearings etc all having been rooted and now replaced, so I thought i'd grab a front set of these rather than the 330mm brake upgrade until a later stage.
Intercepter - Just making sure the calipers would fit properly on the rotors, can't be too sure |

i've got the dba slotted rotors with bendix advance pads. 100% rip off if ya ask me might as well get standard ones.

I was told today that Holden and Ford standard rotors are made and supplied by DBA and are exactly the same as std DBA's. I was quoted $59 for std DBA and $120 for the crossdrilled seems a lot for a few holes. Any coments???

Where did you get that quote from? Is that just for X drilled, or is that X drilled and slotted? Seems a good price???????????? |

They look better but not as sexy as 330mm and four spotters.
But on the performance side of things the ventilation gap through the centre is heaps bigger than stock so you get to brake heavily a few more times over the standards before the pedal gets spongy, But you gain no real increase in braking ability because size of disc and calipers remain the same they can just shed heat better than standard..

The crossdrills can actually crack too under heavy driving (trackday type driving)... But, yeah they do look sexy(er) if that's your bag. Gimme 330mm rotors with custom curved slots and four spot calipers thanks...

No idea on that what mick, but the reason I ask about the dba slotted and cross drilled is just an interim solution before the brake upgrade, cause apparently the 330mm ones aren't too crash hot anyway due to the stock brake master cylinder.....if this was upgraded then they would be much more worth while - unfortunately not enough good opinions on the upgrade to warrant the $$$ i don't think even though they do look sweet - might even think about the 355mm option

they fit allright. i just put dba slotted rottors and bendix ultimates on the front end of the fairlane and the difference is unreal.
go for slotted. you have more contact surface between the pad and the rottor and x-drilled ones are more more prone to cracking. look at the supercars. they all use slotted rottors... ps. the little piece of paper that came with the rottors says that the stock rottors are un-evenly weighed (nc fairlane ones anyways)...
