Needs new front rotors & pads on my XR8, will be going with DBA slotted's and most likely some Bendix or EBC pads.. All up supply and fitted would $600 be enough for the job ?

Just want a comparison for when I ring around for what a good price and whats not ?

I just got DBA slotted rotors, EBC Greenstuff pads and braided lines all round on my EL2 XR8 last week. Still bedding them in but they seem to be a lot better then the stock ones that I had before.

I got all the stuff from Cam at Hightek Brakes. Pretty sure the prices were:

DBA Slotted rotors $99 each
EBC Greenstuff Pads $115 pr
Braided lines $140 pr
Penrite super dot 4 racing brake fluid free.

I got them fitted by my local mechanic and he put in new bearings and seals etc. as well for $580. Reckons he spent 8 hours on the car all up. Probably pretty expensive but oh well at least I'm gonna be able to stop now.

Get it through HITek Brakes. Get some good deals there. Just send an email to Cam and tell him youre a Fordmods member.

I just got a pair Front DBA slots and Front braided lines for $330 - but i saw they have a special on front braids at the mo for a bulk buy.

i don't know any mechanic who wouldn't sack an employee for taking any longer than 2 hours to do that job. 8 hours, were his hands tied behind his back with the car on chassis stands and only his teeth for tools. sorry but thats just wrong.

im waiting on an email back from Cam @ hightek. im fairly sure im going for EBC's and the DBA's , but are braided lines worth it, i think i read somewhere that they are only good at real high temps and i dont do alot of spirited driving .. so yeah think ill be sticking to the basics.. for around the $315 mark plus post.. whatever it may be.

the rotor seals are like $7 each from repco. Not 30-50. But you definetly still need to get them.
