hi i just bought a eb2 gli as a project car. well i was looking under the back of the car checking too see what kinda diff it had and noticed it had a hole in the back plate of the diff. where the arm is usally attached( which isn't there) i think a brake bracket might go there too? well when i start the car the abs light stays on and when braking it grinds. would the brakes be to do with this or would i need to replace the whole diff? thanx for any help

Bloody hell, I think you are talking about where the Watts Link pivots on. If that is broken, I would be looking for other chassis damage as well. The diff gears could be stuffed too, if metal fell in the hole.

Not good at all.

Gee. someone was none too polite when removing the Watts link... Bugger

I am sure a quick trip to your local Pre-loved parts place will help with a Watts link and a new Diff cover...
