This is not something you want to do yourself if you don't know what you're about.

Setting diff gears up requires a fair bit of know how........ Otherwise they get noisy, wear out quickly and just generally cause you problems.

I just wouldn't do it ........

If you have a complete centre, that's a different story, (I thought you were talking about building up your own).......

You'll get all the help you need on here to get it done.......

I think the only issue will be getting the speedo to read correctly..... but a visit to Fraud will fix that for you!

It's a mammoth job.

The whole back of the car needs to come out. As you can't get the diff out without removing the whole IRS cradle.

For such a 'small' diff change, it's not worth to job.

When I got mine done (professionally) as it's not a job you'd want to tackle without a hoist and a couple helpers. I supplied a 3.46 diff (factory a 2.73), and cost over 1600 to get it reco'd and installed.

Yeah, I didn't need to change speedo or gearshift points (ZF auto). It was a seemless change.

Data dude if you want to sped up your auto changes do a service and while you are in there turn the adjustment on the S5 in 3/4 of a turn, the difference is way good.
Plenty of info Fordy don't be put off it's not that hard to get it in there and then book in to a Diff joint and get them top set the lash if you are not sure .

I've got the ZF 6spd, manual shifts are already breaking traction (into 4th!).

And it's all controlled by a tune these days.

S5 is the solenoid in the BTR 4 speeds that controls how firm the shift is. It can either be physically changed, or with the use of a electronic shift kit, it can be done with a few $ of wiring and components - also you can turn it off (handy for wet weather).
