Hi,

I am about to do an oil change on the rear diff on my Ford AUII.

Can someone let me know if its a normal diff and what Diff oil to use. I doubt if I have a limited slip diff. It's all live axle.

Thanks.

most likely a "normal" diff lol .... should have a sticker [or what's left] on the drivers side of diff. this will tell you a bit more about the diff/type & ratio.

I'm sure its a normal stock standard diff.

I'll see if I can find any stickers on the axle, hopefully it's still there and legible.

If not, send me a VIN for your car if you can.

Papa Smurf,

I'll have a look for the VIN if need be, I'll jack the car up tomorrow and see if I have the sticker still attached to the live axle.

Penrite Pro Gear 80w-140 if LSD. Jack both wheels up and spin one by hand. If they go opposite ways not LSD. Some IRS have High Performance diff tag too, run LSD oil in them.

I could not check them today, will check Wednesday and see what it reads. The replaced axle came from a AUII Forte, so should be same as the one I orginally had. I removed the entire rear axle due to lot of noise. It was replaced with the other.

Finally had a chance to check the axle details.

Sticker says RATIO 3.08:1 WA4AC WR2A-4006-AC

Would this be normal diff?

So what diff oil should I use considering I drive over 1000klm per week. One day in the week I drive 420klm return trip.

Thanks

Does anyone know what size bolt hole is on Ford AU11?

I need to get the right size hole punch for oil joint paper before I pull the diff cover off.

Thanks
