I have an efII fairmont AUTO and am in the midst of a manual conversion can anyone tell me whether i need to change the diff ratios or diff to handle the ratio change from auto to manual... the gearbox i will be using is a t50d... the autobox i will be promptly discarding is the disappointment they call btr93le.. the ratios according to the manual are different only minutely but i would have not a clue as to whether or not they would drastically affect differential life... if anyone can help me i would much appreciate the info... cheers.

No, You can have what ever diff ratio you like.
Changing diff ratio will adversely affect your speedo reading. As for ratio as combinations, you either have 3.08:1 3.23:1 or a 3.45:1 in your car. Most people would say the 3.45:1 is the best for a manual, even I currently run this one, but prefer the 3.23:1. All in all.. they're simular just more pickup, but with a manual... anything will be better than the auto. As for strength a higher number would be better for the driveline, but then the parts are moving faster thus wear and noise. help?
