i have a lsd 3.23 but when i jack up one wheel if i try hard enough i can spin the wheel so does that mean its stuffed or do the cones lock in? cos when i put the foot down it spins one wheel but ony a little bit then takes off.
if it is stuffed how much would iut cost to recon and how hard would it be to do my self. cos i like to do most of the work myslef but tnever pulled a diff apart |

Sounds like a pretty standard Falcon LSD, working within normal tolerences, to me. They are not a very good design
A diff place can re-shim the LSD for you so its a bit tighter...not sure how much this would be though, I have only ever had it done as part of a complete diff rebuild. |

Should be around $400 to $600 because they have to pull and disassemble the centre.
Try this for a possible cheap fix. Drain out all the oil. Put in one bottle of Penrite Limslip Additive, then top up the rest with the correct gear oil. If the cones are not too bad this should give you a cheap temporary fix. You should notice a difference in about 100km, if it works. If it doesn't then its no real loss because the diff oil is probably due anyway. |
