G'day, I'm selling my 6 cyl for the next model up and a V8, it just occurred to me I won't be able to re-use the front springs in the V8..
What's the difference between the 6 and 8 cylinder springs? Is it stiffness or are they a tiny bit taller to account for the extra few kilograms? If they are just taller then would there be any issues in using the 6cyl springs? 'Cos I've always wanted the front about 1CM lower anyways.. Would it make a noticable impact on handling if they are stiffer? Cheers

I used my 6cyl King Springs in my ED V8. It sits lower than usual and isn't as still as they were in the 6cyl. I suspect that the V8s had more tension due to their heavier weight.

Ah yeah, thanks mate. Any negative results having the 6 springs in it? I guess ride quality wouldn't be impacted too much being lowered anyway..

Even though I really don't have anything to judge it against, I suspect the 6cyl springs do in someway make it a poor choice. If there's a V8 spring, I'd go for it as I'm sure mine wouldn't handle as well as a car with the V8 springs fitted. |

Yeah, might chuck the 6cyl springs in the front and see if it handling is noticeably worse than the same car with a 6cyl engine, otherwise I'll just get a new set for the front.

The 6 cylinder springs are better for the track u get more lift when taking off

how about putting v8 springs into a 6? i just bought some and i assumed that they would be the same but i just googled the numbers and it says they are v8

For the eb onwards (from factory) there isn't a difference, the only brand of aftermarket springs I know of that sell a v8 option is king springs, but that says it all about the quality of their steel I guess.

I found out that the king spring v8 sl are 10% stiffer than the 6cyl

in the king springs catalouge, for AU V8 and I6 the springs have the same part number
