Hay guys

I have finally put the EL XR6 LSD in my car ( about time), but now i have noticed that my car sits a fair bit hiegher then it used to.

All the NSW people will know how low my car was, but now with the new diff it has raised, i have ultralow king springs in the rear with standard shocks and used to tuck tyre with either the 15's or the 18's but now its sitting about equal to superlows, and if anyone will ask yes i have now put the springs back in there places but no change.

Can anybody give me some insight on why this might be.

Could this be to do with the different positioning of the top arm bolt holes? Causing the diff to pivot and sit the spring seat higher?

were the upper and lower control arm bolts to the diff done up at ride level or whilst the car was up in the air with the diff hanging? and did you use el top arms?

I would presume it was all done whilst the car was in the air, i dont think my mechanic would put that much time into it to make it sit right.

Oh yes, why didn't i think of that.

Doing the bolts tight without weight on suspension will make car sit alittle higher, not sure how much though.

The different pinion position would BARELY have an affect on the ride height.

Most importantly, was the car dropped on its own weight, with all bolts nipped up but NOT tight?

You NEED to tighten the bolts on the diff control arms, lower shock mounts etc at ride height, otherwise it'll chew through the bushes *rubber ones*

From what i can tell all the bolts were TIGHT before the car hit the ground which explains why it is sitting higher then usual, so hopefully with assistance from one of the guys from here i can get it back to normal again

probably just needs settling in.

on the subject though would't changing the angle on the diff end in the 4 link create different castor angle ? therefore (if available) interchangable arms to create custom castor ?

also what effect does changing the pivot angle on the chasis achieve when retaining the same castor angle ?

Its a live axle so the castor cannot be changed.
