Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it I tried a genuine traction control button from that era plugged it in and then I pressed it and all I got was a pop as a fuse blew but unfortunately I replaced a few so quickly I can’t remember which one it was. The other interesting thing is I tried to find out whether it’s actually on the dashboard so I turned ignition to on and I don’t see the traction control icon light up on the right hand lower side of the instrument cluster. I’m assuming I’ve done something wrong or I’m just not understanding something, anyone?

you most likely don't have traction control then.

So does anyone actually know how to establish this.

Thanks for that info. I’ll check it out. Just in case it’s relevant my XR8 is a 6 speed manual

I believe it was a just option but I haven't seen a xt with it.
Most xr6 will have it, my xr6 is the only 1 I've seen that doesn't have it. My old futura had it |

As far as i knew BAs had traction only in XR6T XR8 FPV series and Fairmont Ghia.
On BA Mk2 it was maybe an option on certain models ?
