Sorry if this has been covered before

I have just brought a Apr 1990 N/A fairlane, I was wondering what sort of diff came standard. I have read a brochure on the N/A fairlane and said it came standard with LSD. Also it has valour trim, I thought only the N/C came with the velour trim. It also has a 4spd auto!

Are there numbers or lettering on the diff that can tell me whether it’s LSD or a single spinner?

I may be selling parts off it as it’s not worth restoring

Any help will be greatly appreciated
Adam

I have an 1994 ED futura, is it worth putting the fairlane LSD diff in mine?

your NA is a series 2 so it would have a 3.23 LSD or the optional 3.27 if your lucky

yeh why should you put a taller ratio in the car when the ED has a 3.08 or 3.27 or whatever the hell. it would pay to whack an lsd in it though

i fitted a 3.23 lsd from an na fairlane to mine 2 weeks ago, but the problem you will have fitting to an ed is, i've been told the trailing arms on the eb-d's are wider than the ea-na ones so this may give you issues. but depending on your ratio it is well worth doing. i went from a 2.77 to 3.23 and made a huge improvement

That means nothing, check the tags that are on it.

chuck a skid if they both light up you got an lsd, just because it says high performance on the tag dont mean you got an lsd my xr8 looked the same as my ef fairmont ghia v8 and the fairmont was a single spinner
