Hi,

I had to remove front tyres today to do a radiator R&R.

I noticed the drivers front tyre to be showing bit of what looks like canvas material and extreme wear.

The tread closest to the engine bay has the wear.

I've never experienced wear like this before.

Does anyone know what causes this?

I thought you had this issue before. If you dont have a stuffed ball joint or suspension component it needs a wheel alignment.

@ 93EB,

That was a different tyre last time, that was on the passenger side, this one is from the drivers side, Only noticed it today when I was doing a radiator R&R.

Ball joint is good, I'll have to check to see suspension component is stuffed somewhere. Wheel alignment was done by K-Mart Auto, few months ago.

Looks like another one has to be done after I get another tyre.

Thanks

Definately there is an issue somewhere. If you can maybe avoid Kmart. Take it to Bob Jane for wheel alignment.
They dont do suspension repairs though.

I wont be going back to K-Mart Auto that's a certain. I could take it Bob Jane , however Fulcrum at Browns Plains ( not too far away from me) also does suspension checks. Might give them a call and see they can check for free and give a quote on any issues they find.
