I still don't get you?
Put really simply a strut is just what a front shock absorber is called.
I would get new shocks no matter what springs I was using.
They don't last forever, and if you are upgrading springs you may as well do shocks while your there.

I got lows in mine, same stock shocks, ride is fine, in a Lane, which is heavier than XT, if you go lows you prob wont have to change shocks, super lows you have to change, otherwise springs wil pop out of seats, and a rough ride, what do you want, a cool ride with reasonable handling, or FULLY SIK ride, and rough as guts, and the added cost of shocks/struts???

If you get superlows get them to check the alignment too.
Chances are if your like most of the people that get superlows, you mainly cruise down mainroads, so youll have no need for -1.5deg camber or more.
Youll probably need a camber kit or youll chew out your front tires.

I had mine done at WA Suspensions.

Probably not the cheapest place in perth but they know their s**t. The owner and one of the sales guys both drive Fords and know their stuff backwards. State distributors for heaps of brands and a nice workshop, they do everything from street cars to race cars.

http://www.wasuspensions.com.au

pics of mine are in my gallery.

Lovell superlows at the front and lovell low at the back (I have an LPG tank to make it sit lower in the back)

Sits on KYB shocks.

Ride is a bit harsh sometimes but no worse than it was with the s**t stock stuff it already had.

Mine came out to ~1,150 total
4x springs
4x shocks/struts
camber kit on the front
wheel alignment
labour
