hey guys, does anyone know of any companies making strut braces for EA falcon's. It doesnt seem to be very common thing and google and ebay dont seem to be helping my search!!, thanks

i remember reading a thread on here saying that its not needed, but you would be better off getting some other thing that went from struts to firewall or something like that :S

Theres the thread, very good stuff posted by ashvolvo. The upper arm bracing whiteline do braces back to the engine mount on the K Frame. I think its only compatible with EF/ELs (at least thats what they sell it to suit), I havent seen one in the flesh so don't know if it could be adapted to EA-ED.

Oh, and in regards to the comments about strut bracing being beneficial, the reason it ISN'T of much use on an E-Series, is because the position/movement of the strut doesn't affect suspension geometry at all.
In a car with a mac strut, where the steerng knuckle is mounted directly to the strut, wheel alignment can be changed by moving the strut top around (hence adjustable strut tops ). So any flex in the tower obviously affects the strut and hence the suspension geometry. A strut brace in an E-Series could theoretically help brace the shock towers and prevent movement of the tower where the upper arm mounts, but it makes more sense to just brace the upper arm directly.

why put a strut brace on a car that does not have strut suspension?
the falcs use a double wishbone style a strut brace is a waste of time and money!

Disco Frank is right as strut brace is a waste of time and money simple want to look great so l have drive my last EB with heavy duty standad height spring with monroe gas shockies and fitted rear sway bar from sedan into wagon and travel on very hard on unmade road have bend rims after went airbore approx 300mm off the ground numbers of time and car clock nearly 450.000 km and never had bend the front body frame however so why waste this stupid strut brace This is OK for holden but not ford so stop dreaming |

id have to agree with goofyman i looked into it because after we banged one on my mates VS wagon it made the thing tight as and a droftin maachine. lol but after susing it all out and doing some research i found that the nolatane kit is the best thing you can do to tighten things up, its just how it is, ford do a better front end than holden anyway do some research and at the end of the day its your car mate. good luck !

Best thing to do to a Falcon, is a front sway bar and some new bushes, nolothane if you want stiffer ones.

I couldn't agree more with data_mine, front sway bar and nolathane bushes make a world of difference in a Falcon.
I just went for a drive tonight with a mate that upgraded his and it's a totally different car.

Hey guys, I have a heap of free play in my steering, especially at 100km/h. Would a EL GT front sway bar and some nolathane bushes help me out?
Or is something just really loose or what else should I look into? It's dangerous stuff. I know you can't exactly point an EF and it will be straight as, but the kind of corrections I have to make is just dangerous. So I know that the EFs aren't perfect, but there is something much more sinister at play with my front steering now.

I'd get your rack checked out. Probably worn badly if it's never been changed in the life of an EF.
I wouldn't bother with an EL GT bar. The Whiteline ones are better and cheaper (also new).
