just a quick one, i may have the opportunity to get an ea with 5spd in it cheap. was wondering if it would go into my ED easy enough or should i try find one out of an ED onwards?

nothing wrong with the EA as far as a know, just the clutch is gone and the guy doesnt wanna fix it cause hes got another car to drive.

The ea box isnt as strong as the later model boxes, and i also believe that they have a slightly different flywheel? A 3 bolt compared to six or something?

Not sure on the compatability, but I'm fairly sure they are different

the flywheel is different where the clutch bolts on, so if u use an EA flywheel u'll need an EA spec clutch. best to source an ED sped flywheel and clutch.

Everything will go in and work.

If you use EA flywheel you have to use EA clutch, if you use an ED flywheel you have to use an ED clutch - that's all.

IMO it's worth it to grab the 6-bolt flywheel, and a brand new clutch kit - then use the rest of the gear from the EA.

Not really anything between the boxes, I've been running a EA box for ages now, and never had a problem with it ..

EA boxes have diff ratios, thats about it .
