i am lookin to find out if there is any improvements between the EA - AU T5 gearbox? i plan to put one in my Valiant anythin i do end up buying will be rebuilt but just unsure as to pay the extra money and aim for a AU box or just whatever i can find as the EA,EB boxes are eaiser to come across
i am aware that the ratios are different in the six's between the EA-AU and the same in the eight's lookin more for casing or parts improvments? Thanx Stadic |

apart from the gatios (which you know), the later box'es (fom mem eb2 onwards) had synchro reverse, other changes were from a 3bolt to a larger 6 bolt clutch (but you can put a 6bolt into an ea box so its a non issue). hope it helps in your choice

from the turbo'd cars ive seen that were manual, you'll probably blow it to peices, many N/A's blow them well under 200kw let alone 300kw (from mem 400hp is 300kw), perhaps speak to someone like malwood about a T5z? or a TKO if you have the coin.
might aswell do it right the first time, be a pain changing boxes all the time. |

yeah i am thinkin of a V8 XR8 box as a start i was goin to go a auto but its goin into a 1970 valiant pacer (for those who dont know what that is its like a earlier sports model charger but a 4door) and to go a auto in it would be like puttin a genIII in a auXR8, might just hav to go easy on it its built to go quick but the 5speed is more for long drives rather then the single rail 4speed in it now. not that keen on burn outs like i used to be but this HEMI 6 will keep the XR8 boys at bay
