Hey
I have this problem with the EA where you go to slow down and stop and there is an extremely violent shudder while you are slowing....even if you back off and apply brakes again it does it.

But it’s not constant, sometimes, well most of the time, the car stops fine....just does it sometimes and its very violent, shakes the hell out of the car...

My Mums EA used to do the same thing....does anyone knows what it is and how to fix it?

Cheers

sounds like the disc rotors are warped (not straight) to fix this you will need to get them machined most mechanics can do it for you or if you dont like your money that much go to abs, brakes plus, etc, etc. shop around on price coz in the end every place will do the same thing

Sounds like really bad warped rotors. Does the pedal shudder as well.

yea, sounds like warp rotors. Mine did that, change front pads and had rotors machined. All ok now.

This happened to me too, about three months ago. I had a guy come and machine my .... something (rotors?)

WELL, my car is doing at again! Do you think that maybe my chasis isnt straight and that is putting off my brakes?

I am just wondering how it can start shuddering again after only a few months!!!

I went in the car, this doesnt feel like warped rotors - its a high frequency vibration though the whole car and has the noise to go with it.

Okay did you check if there is any play in the wheel bearings, or the other thing I had was the front wheel bearing inner seal was worn, so check this as id tightened up the bearing nut and it still did the same til The inner seal was replaced
