Howz it going team? I bought this EA no more than 2 1/2 weeks ago, and I've completed the first stage of my plan. As tempting as it is to rush out and get a catback system and do engine stuff, something I learnt from racing r/c was to make your car handle first. And that's what I set out to do.

I research a bit before making any decisions, and decided on shortened BOGE shocks and KING springs SUPER LOW. I had read that a few didn't like the ride Kings' offered, but I think that maybe partly due to lowering a car with standard shocks.

Admitedly, I've only driven it from the workshop to home, but can already tell it is a nicer ride. The height looks awesome IMO, and the shocks work a treat, I get good feedback from the road without a harsh ride. I'll see if I'm still happy after a week, and get back to you's.

Next plan was exhaust, but I reckon brakes might be a goer. Anyhow, here's some pics.

Cheers.

Yeah, go the brakes, it'll be the best move you do. Have you done the sway bars yet???
I have an 88 EA, and put a 32mm bar on the front, and a 27mm bar on the back.
With the front shockies, did you get the small shaft ones like original, or did you get the larger shaft ones like in the EF/EL's???

Cheers fella's. Took it for a drive and it was sweet before I blew the fkn headgasket tonight.

Dunno if I'll need swaybars, I did mention it to Jamie at GSA, and he suggested see how it goes with this setup first.

What brakes should I get? DBA slotted and some bendix pads?

The car is pretty low now, is it true that it may drop even more after "settling" or something?

Yes, they can & do settle. How much depends on how good the tempering was. Big sway bars are only gonna help.
Bad luck on the headgasket, how'd that happen, get a bit hot???? blow a hose???
You'll have to do the head now, before you do your brakes, eh?

Just worn I reckon, I think it was maybe using a little water.. but there was no smoke.. ever.

Getting it fixed this week with a WADE 1636 in the mix.

Will do front brakes after that... then exhaust.

lol Stage 2: has changed 3 times now!
