Got some Early EB-D Fairmont Ghia rims off my mate for free today.
Went to put them on and the rears fit ok with normal nuts not mag wheel nuts as the mag wheel nuts wouldnt go down the thread enough...so it was ok up untill then. Went to put them on the front and the hub is too big for the hole in the wheel. So im thinking ill have to use a spacer. What sizes do spacers come in? Where can i get some 2nd hand or new. I hear there is a place on grote street that sell them. I also know that they are illegal but im not fussed...Will this effect me when i go to get new tyres? Cheers all

I've got a spare set of the fairmont rims (15" ones)
and they have quite a particular long nut for them. I needed new nuts when I changed over to XR rims. I would suggest finding a suitable set of nuts for the rims. Maybe a wrecker has a set, or alternatively a mag wheel place. Dont bother with Ford as they are too expensive. |

naaa tried that.
What has happened is i got the standard ED ones. The stud is a certain length but the amount of thread the mag wheel nut will take is not enough to make the mag tight. If that makes sense. I use the standard wheel nuts on the rears but the problem is the Car HUB it BIGGER than the allowance the hub has. It goes on but there is about a 5mm gap inbetween the wheel and disk when the wheel is pressed hard.

you shouldnt need an adaptor for them, they are the same bolt pattern.
some wheels require diff nuts. i know they fit as i had a set on mine for a few days a while ago. i assume your talking about the snowflakes or are they the turbo-blades, doesnt matter really as they should fit |

Seems like a tricky one....
Ive seen both snowflakes and turbo-blades on EF's a number of times before...... Cant think of any other solutions. Hope you get it sorted stomper. |

the nuts are different from your standard ef wheel nuts. you cant just pull your ef wheels off and use the same nuts, it wont work.

you have to shorten the studs to get the nuts to tighten up, tried to put a set of turbo blades on my folks EF, we ended up deciding it was easier to pay for tyres rather than let me at the car with a grinder.

Well im going to have another look but the HUB, as in the round part that sticks out....that is stopping the wheel going on and i can see its that because there is a mark on the hub its self.
Me and dad tried to see if its the mag as he said there were 'shims' in the hub of the mag that he had to take out. As for the mags they are the cleanest turbo blades i have ever seen. I got them for free and the reason i use them is because id rather have a mag there, even if its a turbo blade, then the s**t hub caps that click and s**t. Plus the mags are piss easy to clean compared to the hub caps. Just to make it clear I cant use the ED mag wheel nuts as they arent deep enough. On the rear i used the normal for wheel nuts and they are working fine (i rang a few wheel compainies to make sure). I have also seen turbo blades on EF/EL.... GRRR anyone selling 16/17" FTR's?

i would have thought there wouldnt be any difference between the hubs? all wheels fit across the range.
they should fit on the hub right, but as said, you will need mag wheel bolts.
