The manual tells me to drive 3.5km and then stop and check the fluid. What are people finding is the best way? Should I just drive it 3.5km or if as long as the tranny is at normal operating temp, shouldnt that be the time to check?

i dont think you can as a dipstick for the transmission was omitted after 94. Apparently after then the transmissions were non serviceable items and never needed to be tended to.. My a**. My transmissions is ruined for just this reason. Others, correct me if im wrong, but you cant check the fluid without dropping the pan and loosing all the fluid anyway. If your wprried about it, just change it.

do you want to check it or change it?you normally dont until a tranny service.castrol Q95 oil,how much? drivers side rear onbox is a filler grub screw,get oil hot and run shifter thru all positions,jack up level and fill to hole level.trans guys have motor running in gear on the hoist to fill it after the service.
