What sort of revs should a EB V8 be doing at around 100Ks. I took a test drive tonight and it took untill 4000rpm to change to 2nd then it went to 3rd and was reving at 2500rpm at 90kms and didnt change up to 4th at all as far a I could tell. If there is a problem is it ECU related or box related?

what kms did your do what KM/H did you do my eb 3.9 doesn't change to fourth at any speed (had it up to 160 ) no fourth change i have a dodgey Gearbox so i assume that the eb you drove has a dodgey gearbox ( assumeing 4 speed auto if manual change gear dude:P)

I did manual changing as well as in drive and no sign of 4th as far as I could tell. I would have thought that a V8 in 4th at 100ks would be reving at only about 1800RPM.

auto should lock up in 4th around 70kph. mine will lock up at 60kph in 4th but at 100 it revs at about 2500 but that could have something to do with the 3.9's in the diff

eb v8's i think only had a 3.27 std so should rev somewhere round the 2k mark give or take.

you looking at getting rid of your wagon? i had a ef xr6 wagon and now drive an ebv8. hmmm

Its a no go guys I discussed it with the missus and we both had a gut feeling that something was up. These guys just seemed too keen to get rid of it they just talked too much and it made me suss. As they say go with your gut its usually right.

has yours been changed since it left the factory as 1800 seems a bit low for a 3.45 diff.

mine was a guesstimate as i don't have a tacho. i don't reckon it would be 2700 though.

I have heard of people throwing in a BW 3 speed auto because of the cost of the BTR 4 speed. I wouldn't be surprised it was a 3 speeder in there.
