i took my car for a pre roadworthy inspection this tuesday just gone only to be told that my brakes are undersized. plus a whole lot of little s**t.
now the brake rotors on the car i replaced prior to the inspection. they are brake rotors from my parts car which is a eb II fairmont v8.
i would just like to know would/should the fairmont brake rotors be smaller than my eb xr8 ones?

no e-series front rotors are all the same size except the tickford 330mm fronts on some el's.

As mentioned, other thank GT/Tickford brakes on the E-series, they are all the same size.

When they say the rotors are undersized they usually mean the thickness of the rotor, either it's already undersized (past the legal wear limit on them) or it will be if they machine it so they won't machine it, and want it replaced.

Cheers

thanks rustyeb1991 i already knew that el gt had 330mm rotors, and was like the only e series falcon with rotors that big and every other falcon should be the same size. but i was second guessing my knowledge after what i was told by the mechanic. just had to be sure...
and yes troyman i did tell them that they were factory brakes.
and torana guy, they didnt mention anything to do with them being too thin or need machining.

When a rotor is new it's marked with a minimum thickness, and you can't machine it or allow it to wear past that point, as it may become dangerous if it's undersized. If it's worn past that point or would be undersized if it was machined it's not roadworthy.

You better go talk to them again & ask them to clarify what they mean by "undersized rotors".

Cheers
