When I press the excellerator it seems to build up more speed then 3 or 4 seconds later kicks down, I'm not sure how long it is suppose to take before it shifts down? we have two other similar falcons and they change almost straight away. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and what the fix is, also the auto changes gears fine when driving.

thanks for any help.

Yeah, check this - get someone to stand on the accelerator (full throttle[car not running]), and then someone under the bonnet to see if they can open the throttle anymore.

Your problem is normally caused by your car not reaching full throttle.

Cheers
