Hi guys, i did a search cause i know i have seen topics on this before, but couldnt find s**t!!
I just want to check, will an EF auto will slot into an EB fine? I am considering buying a running and registered EB2, swapping the EB manual for my EF auto, and selling the EB as an auto. i know the computers arent interchangable (correct me if thats wrong) but i need to know if there is anything else i need to know. can i just use a mal wood clutch pin on the EF auto pedal box and swap the brake pedals across from car to car? or is it easier to mod the EB pedal box to fit the EF? If anyone can think of anything obvious that i will be missing, let me know!! |

Yeah EF auto will be fine.
And yeah, mal wood pin would be a lot easier than trying to fit EB pedal box into the EF. |

lol, this is all too easy and makes too much sense!! ha ha!!
not accustomed to having mods seem straight forward, more used to having to push s**t uphill for months on end. one other thing, will the auto loom slot into the EB? i know i can make the manual loom fit the EF... btw voxace, i have read you doco, very helpful mate, thanks for putting that up for everyone. |

Do as suggested - also because the EB needs to have a handbrake mount, and the EF needs the mounts on the RHS for the Airbag unit and for the white connectors, so swapping them you make more work for yourself.
In lieu of the MW pin, you could try this: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=92

thanks snap. yeah i had already read your doco on that. looks not too bad, but i dont have acess to a welder. so mal wood pin is proly easier option.
and yeah, i didnt even think about the handbrake mounts and so on. thats too easy, nice clear cut desicion on that one. now i just gotta make sure that the wiring will be good to turn the EB to auto... then only a few more monetry hurdles!! lol, it never ends! |

actually, something else while i am thinking about it, i am not sure yet (will find out) if the EB is converted to manual from auto or a factory job, but if it is factory, i will need an auto radiator for it.
does an EF radiator fit into an EB? and an EB one into an EF? also, would the tranny cooling lines from the EF fit the EB? (as you can see, i want to cover all my bases before i go ahead with anything ) cheers again guys, Nic |

i know that the EF radiator fit into an EB and an EB one into an EF as i have an eb series 2 and it has the ef radiator.

The bottom radiator hose size is different though. Smaller in EF/EL.
I would just run a transmission cooler, and not worry about swapping the radiators. Also check the EB radiator, it might be an auto one anyway if it's ever been replaced. |

nicco wrote: one other thing, will the auto loom slot into the EB? i know i can make the manual loom fit the EF... The Auto looms (round plug) should be fine - the manual loom (rectangular plug), I think you'll find the wires are all the same, but they are rearranged differently EB to EF.nicco wrote: also, would the tranny cooling lines from the EF fit the EB? They'll fit - they were a pain to remove (I cut mine to get them out), so they'd be a pain to fit I'd think. I don't know if removing the LH engine mount and jacking will help getting them in - ironically only one of the lines has a junction halfway.
Using the tranny cooler as mentioned, and using flexible lines, may be the better option.
