I need to upgrade my brakes and have been talking to Cam at hightek about rotors, pads and braided lines. I am going to go the DBA slotted and the braided lines but I am still unsure of which pads to get. I was looking at the Bendix Ultimates but Cam said that they leave too much dust and recommended the EBC Greenstuff pads. The Greenstuff pads sound better but I don't think I would like the look of a bright green brake pad on my regency red XR8. I am thinking of maybe going for the EBC Redstuff pads instead. The problem is that in the specs they don't seem to be as good as the Greenstuffs. I am also worried about whether they are ok for street use.

Has anyone used the Redstuffs before? Any one got any pics of the Greenstuff / Redstuff pads on their cars?

It's a tad silly to base your pad decision on colour.
The 'Redstuffs' use a ceramic compound in them now, which would make them pretty hard for street use.
Probably eat through rotors as well.
The Greenstuffs are formulated to get a much better initial 'bite' then other pads, without the need to warm them up.
I'd say the Redstuffs would be interesting on a cold morning on the way to work.

I have used both Bendix Ultimate and EBC Greenstuff pads, in my opinion the Bendix are a superior pad, the EBC seem to fade quite easily especially when towing a significant load, or with a fair bit of spirited driving. The greenstuffs I have currently on the BA are still quite dusty, probably not quite as bad as the Bendix but still a lot worse than the genuine ford pads.

a quick spray with caliper paint will fix the bright colour.

using bendix ultimates now, very very dusty eat rotors, but they stop brilliantly.

I think that I will go the greenstuffs as I too have my doubts about the redstuff pads for street use. Anyway if I don't like the colour its not hard to change / paint them. I might just ask Cam about the redstuff pads still just out of interest.

Also have tried Greenstuff and Bendix Ultimates. For street work, the Ultimates were a better pad. Greestuff has less dust, but that is about it. I found that a good track day fixed the green colour, as the paint burnt away.......

yeah dont get the red stuffs mate their really only a semi competition pad not normal road use...u get over the green colour..well i did....yeah bendix ultimates ive found are only just marginaly a better performing pad but create loads more dust....which for me i was sick of washin the chromies every couple days...so the greens were alot better.
