Ride: EB V8 wagon- with kiddy seats.

Location: Central Vic
VIC, Australia

Hi guys, new here, so please be gentle.

I have a series 2 EB V8 wagon that has lunched the 95LE trans. It broke a band and scored the drum beyond service. I tried to swap the drum for a drum that came out of a I6 auto, but the gears are different lengths, so no love there.

Anyway, I'm getting sick of walking, so does anyone know where I can get a 95LE V8 trans?

What other options for autos from other models are there (can I use a EL V8 trans)?

I have done a little homework on a manual conversion and I would prefer to go this way, but finding a kit with V8 flywheel, clutch, bellhousing and computer is near impossible. Pedal box is the easy bit! Well, thats the conclusion I've come to so far.
I'm curious to know if a BA 5 speed would fit, as they seem more available?

Anyway, thanks for any info, and I look forward to meeting you all.

You can interchange the V8 sungear into the 6cyl drum - once you remove the clutch return spring & alloy clutch piston, the sungear can be pushed out with your thumbs...

Troyman, I have seen rebuild kits for around the $250 mark, but they don't include the front drum I would need. I really havn't done much pricing after that.

Xpvanman, I might have to look into that, it may be a viable option if I can't turn up a replacement box soon enough.
I'm reluctant to spend much time on the old trans, as it has had some metal go through it. Its been a long time since I pulled a valve block apart.

But I guess beggars can't be choosers, I might end up having to rebuild the old one if I can't find one soon.

I havn't found anyone with V8 box to exchange! Any names, anyone?? Prefer central Vic, but western Melbourne ok.
Plenty of 6 cyl's, but V8 stuff seems hard to find.

Worst bit is, I have two milling machines in storage, but now I can't use my shed so I'm stuck out the front.

Happy to trade a 3 phase mill for a working box! (yeah, I'm getting desperate here  )
