Hey all,
I've noticed in Series I and II AU falcons with autos that they have the ECON button for there AUTO.. What ever happened to that in Series III ? I would of thought it would be good to have to save on fuel a little.. if you arent wanting to hoon around with your lead foot! All i have in my auto where the ECON button was is "ADAPTIVE SHIFT"

Adaptive shift is where the auto learns your driving style. So if you're a granny it changes gears at low RPM where as a your fella with a lead foot it will hold out changing gears.

Have the car off and place your foot on the brake and place it into either First for Performance, 2nd for Economy or third for Adaptive Shift, turn ignition on and wait for airbag warning light to go out. then put it into Reverse and then the econ light will flash 3 times to indicate a successful gear change put in parkand start engine and watch the ECON light Two flashes after turning on indicates max performance ECON on continuously means max econ no illumination means adaptive shift.
