I am under the impression it can't, I was told the 3.45 housing is slightly larger?

i've asked before, and no it can't be done - you need min a 3.23 housing to take the 3.45 a***

You're saying Ford went to the effort of making a totally different diff housing just for the 3.08?

i asked before about buying 3.45 gears to chuck into my existing 3.08 housing & was told the 25/28(?) spline made it incompatable...

All E-Series diffs from EB onward are 28 spline. Its only the EA's which were 25 spline.

I have done this swap with a ed diff. I used the 3.45 ring& pinion into a 3.08 ed housing.
