I have a '94 ED XR6, the trans is completely stuffed. I don't want to shell out for a full recon as I'm hoping to scalp a T5 from a friend of mine and do a conversion, but this wont happen for for 12-18 months. In the mean time, I want to replace my trans with a serviceable second hand unit. My trans is a BTR91LE, my big question is, do I have to get another BTR91LE or can I use a BTR93 or 95 from a later model without any modification? Thanks in advance!

You can use any 4 speed auto from the E-Series I6 range.

They all bolt up the same. Just make sure its not a V8 box and your set.

i had ya problem i got an EF box just so ya know there is a T5 conversion kit on ebay for $600

After reading through all the forums and thinking about the whole situation, I called a mate of mine and claimed the T5 that has been sitting in his shed for the past 3 years. Thanks in particular to Jaysen for his help on the auto to manual ecu mod advise. I'm saying goobye to the pus-box auto and amping up for the T5!! f**k I love ford.
