So il post this here before I put it anywhere else. The steering column bearing has been on the way out for a while( the one at the firewall) and it started to stick a few months ago, just before Rego so I sprayed white lithium grease in it and it's lasted, but I know it will go oneday. Anyone know how to get it out? Ever had expirence with it?
Cheers

Cannot be changed... It is part of that plate... They usually pop out when people pull out the dash, don't undo that base plate and let the column hang on the floor... It load one side of the bearing and causes it to pop out...
Best find a cheap bare column from the wreckers... Just that plate assmbly can be changed... But very hard to get the column apart on an ED... The bottom bush in slide section is next to impossible to get out to allow the column to separate... Then there is 4 dobs of weld that need to the cut, the sleeve will tap off and the plate will slide off the bottom of the shaft then... Easier to replace the whole column though... Cheers, Tim
