i can get a 3.45 lsd for $50 but soon i will be putting a manual

iv heard with 3.45 the 1st gear is shorter other than that and higher fuel consumption are there any more pros n cons to 3.45 over 3.23 like i was planning to get for 150

also EB lower controle arms are they benifial got told JMM use to put them in to get a better launch for drag racing

With the 3.45:1 all gears seem slightly shorter.

Fuel economy will improve around town and there will be negligable difference on the open road.

EB lower control arms won't fit, you will need the EF/EL Lower arms. Also grab the EL upper arms with the diff if you can if the diff is coming from an XR.

Are you sure you have 3.23:1 in a GLi?

unsure if manuals were different or the diff had been changed but my el gli series 1 with the factory 5 speed had a 3.23 open spinner in it when i bought it.

My 88 EA S Pack T5, MPFI was a 2.92 LSD.......the 3sp auto's were 2.77.
I have a 2.77 LSD from an 88 NA Fairlane.
I think they went to 3.08's in the EA's with the advent of the 4sp auto.

Same way with an LSD.....but a 'tight' single legger can do the same.
I have an EBII diff housing in my ED with EA upper and lower trailing arms.
I made spacers to fit the lower arms for front and rear.
The outer parts of the spacers are alloy, and the inner part that is pressed in is stainless steel.

Coz I already had SuperPro bushes in the EA arms, and didn't want to waste them, and besides, they have next to no side movement whatsoever.
