You probley have a 3.08 diff ratio. The standard auto wont change into 4th till around 80kmph because it will labour the box. It spose to stay in 3rd below 80kmph. And pwr and acc just changes your s**t points, when its in pwr it will always drag the gears out,..

every 4spd auto falcon i've driven, including my ef's, el and au, all change into 4th at around 55-60, in power or economy mode.

what you are feeling at 80km/h is the lockup. it's not a gear shift.

so the shift pattern generally is

1st --> 2nd --> 3rd --> 3rd (lockup engaged) --> 4th --> 4th (lockup engaged)

bear in mind the lockup's aren't a gearshift, the transmission is still in the same gear - the lockup clutch in the torque convertor is just engaged. this effectively locks the two plates and stops slip. this is good for economy. if you're having trouble explaining what a lockup clutch is, think of it this way: if it were engaged while the engine was idling, the engine would stall, the same as trying to drop the clutch pedal in a manual with your foot on the brake.
