My EF started to stop running after approx 500 meters from cold start, then stops and engine revs climb. After a few minutes the car will go again but for a shorter distance. I drained and cleaned the tranny (Oil was very dirty) and filled with approx 2 gallons. Is this a mechanical or electrical problem and how do I ensure that there is enough oil in the tranny? This model does not have a dipstick.

On level ground the fluid should be level with the filler hole.

Thanx mate. I have filled the tranny but it still does the same. Got no fault codes from gearbox. Are now going to try to remove and clean the solenoids. Will it work?
