Just pulled off a diff off an ef xr6 to put on my ed xr6 and noticed that the watt's link pivot isn't even lowered 20mm. The dif has a 94dt code , so it must be a 3.45lsd, but the dif cover has a code ending in 903 and was made in 95. the 903 code is the same as the ed. I have a 97 el dif cover on the ed and it had a code ending in 905, and is definately lower than the ef one. Whats up with that, i thought they all had the 20mm lowered pivot?

Only the EL's ( out of the E series ) had the 20mm lower pivot point on the cover. The EL's also had a different mounting point for the upper trailing arms, as well as different upper trailing arms.

But didn't ford take the idea of the lower pivot from ef tickford cars, that's what i've read everywhere?
I also noticed this diff doesn't have the re-drilled (lower) holes for the upper trailing arms, but the ed does. I thought all tickford cars had these as well. As a side note the ef that i pulled the diff out of has 320mm upper arms:S
