wondering what the differance is between ef and el falcon suspention.
in recent media article, and general ford chat, the rear roll centre and geometry of the front suspention is differant. Question: what is the specifics of the el changes and can they be applyed to the ef..thanks |

IIRC different control arm mounting points and the watts linkage point on the diff cover was moved down 20-25mm on the EL's

The mount points on the diff assembly are different to cope with the new control arms as well.
So swapping an EF to/from an EL diff (talking complete rear end, not just the innards) will result in wacky suspension.

As long as you transplant the diff and control arms as a complete package you shouldn't have too many problems. If you're running lowered suspension, budget in a pair of whiteline upper control arms then your setup should be close to spot-on.

Thanks for the info guys. dont realy want to go to huge changes and expence, i have already made some changes, and ride is batter than orriginal, but you know how your always looking for improvement!!!
i have a EF 11 XR,added 16" rims ,lovell sports springs and koni shocks (reds) its a nice ride, but the backs still abit loose, rolls a bit in heavy cornering and does tend to float a bit up front at high speeds. i know its not a race car, but like i said always looking for ways to improve. any more tips always welcome, ... thanks again! |
