I've heard that the XR6 tailshaft can handle higher speeds than the tailshaft out of a standard Falcon/Futura/Fairmont? I know this doesn't matter if you're still limited to 180. But i'm curious of if this statement is true?
If so, is the EL Fairmont Ghia tailshaft the same as the XR6 ones? Or just a standard tailshaft?

The XR tailshafts that are not speed limited are the aluminium ones.

Or are they normal aluminium ones? Only 2 types of tail shaft for E Series sedans, Steel and Alloy. Steel = Standard stock, Alloy = XR. All wagons and long wheel base have alloy shafts. |
