Hi all,

My wife's car has been off the road for 2 weeks while I got around to changing the head gasket that blew. After changing the gasket and putting everthing back together I took it for a test drive and it won't change into 4th regardless of whether I'm in economy or normal mode. I've taken it to 100kph it still won't change. I've reset the ecu as describe - still nothing. I'm interested in any opinions you might have.

Thanks

Stan

Hi,

Just thought I'd let you all know that it was the TPS that was faulty. The variable resistor had gone open circuit therefore giving the ecu a zero voltage reading no matter what position the throttle was in. Plugged in another from the wreckers and off it went - smooth changes all gears.
