Hi guys, I can't seem to find any info so I am hoping someone can give me a hand. I have an XH 6 cylinder ute and I just picked up an EF Fairmont 6 cyclinder station wagon for some spares. What is the difference if any between the front struts, are they the same length and is the Fairmont one a softer unit.

The std genuine Ford units were black in colour...and the genuine up-spec were grey in colour.
It the ute a 1 tonne ute???....if not...you can swap over the strut assemblies.

Thanks cjh, I forgot to mention that my ute is a 1 tonne longreach. I did remove the 5th leaf from the rear springs, (the smallest one) and it has made the ride a bit more softer but did not lower it. I was going to use the Fairmonts rear springs but they are slightly longer and when installed they raised the rear of the ute up by about 8 to 10 cms. That's why I removed the 5th leaf. If the front is softer then I will install the Fairmont struts just to make it a bit more comfortable to drive.
