The ABS light is on when ignition switch is turned on, but a tester doesn't get any codes (the check-ABS light just stays on). I've tested the tester on another EF, and the tester works fine on that car.
Any ideas? TIA

Seen this twice before...one on an EBII and on an AU1 Fairlane....both times needed to replace the ABS CU....fixed it.

In front of the LHF wheel well.
Have you tried pulling codes using the tech doco??

Thanks snap
So is the EF ABS computer integral with the valve bank? Or is it a separate unit located next to the valve bank? See above for codes - tried, couldn't get any output, but tester works fine on another EF

So is the EF ABS computer integral with the valve bank? Or is it a separate unit located next to the valve bank? Modulator and ECU are integrated with these Bosch models.
See above for codes - tried, couldn't get any output, but tester works fine on another EF. True, but the doco details earthing the ABS pin and getting codes from the flashing ABS light without a tester. If the EF is pre series II, the Bosch unit will look like the one in the doco photo. There is a separate 4 pin plug (apart from the bigger plug on the unit)which has the power inputs, check the connections are okay. Also check the ALB fusible link. If the unit isn't getting power, the ABS light will be on, and I don't think you can get codes in that particular condition.
