EF T5 & EL T5, same animal.
I believe the connection for the loom is different between EF & EL. You may need to get the chip reprogammed to EF ECU, could be wrong but check with TI. |

chip has to be programmed with the same model binary. ie ef manual tune in an ef ecu, or el manual tune in an el ecu, cant put ef tune in an el ecu

EF loom has a plug between the big square one on the engine and the gearbox, EL is one complete loom.
You won't need to do the resistor trick, but you will still need to adapt the EL auto loom to the T5 reverse switch and neutral switch. You just need to pull the spade plugs out of the little square plug (with 4 wires) two go to the reverse switch (pink/black & red/black), and the other two need to be joined to bypass the neutral safety switch (black/green & red/blue), then you need to add some wires to the little black plug that looks like an injector plug, and connect it to the T5 neutral switch. With a manual tune on the J3, this will essentially be the same a stock manual car. |
