Hey everyone couldnt find anything on the search so thought id post up this q. although if someone has a link to answer my q on here that would be awsome. Anyways just got a complete manual conv kit off of an EF I6 wagon. Transfering this into an AU series one sedan. Any idea on what would have to be changed? ie tailshafts? I wasnt sure if the T% from an EF was the same as the AU. But i cant see why it would be as the motors are pretty much exactly the same right? Any help is greatly appreciated ^^

I know auto tailshaft from EL sedan and AU sedan are the same, so dont think you would have a problem there.

I thought the AUs had a Hydraulic clutch and the E-series used Cable clutch or something.

Yer i jus thought about that they seem really springy on the au so they seem like they are hydraulic.

Probably need the AU Pedal box too.

You will probably need an AU bellhousing if you are picky like me. The bottom 4 bolts don't line up and there is not much you can do other than not put them in. It took me ages to source an AU bell housing and it cost a fair bit.

Wont fit...
EF/EL T5 is shorter in overall length than an AU. You will find the shifter wont even reach the hole in the floor. |

I disagree with that arm79.

Gab Tried it have you? Speak to Bomber. He was given a rebuilt EF T5 by mistake for his AU1 XR6. Found out the hard way they dont fit. |

When you try let me know.
Oh, and the V8 boxes are different than the I6 boxes. |

Ahh that might explain it, I am pretty sure he may have just used an AU V8 clutch because he has a 6 cylinder.

Incorrect, my AU has a cable, its a lot lighter then my EF tho.. Also I think Wagons have a longer Tail Shaft.

I will most likely get a tailshaft made up for her. Now just have to chase up an AU manual bellhousing......just wanna know what is interchangeable. If it isnt then i will just sell the kit off as i am no longer going to be using it on my EF.
