Instaled a PWR transmission cooler on my EF II Ghia today, Just wondering which is the best way to connect it. The instructions say to connect it in series with the existing radiator cooler down stream of the radiator which is the way I have connected it, or is it just better to completly bypass the radiator cooler and just install the new cooler in its place?

Best to have it in series with the radiator but after the return line from the radiator.

that is the only picture i have of the install and now its all back together but just mounted by a small 'L' shaped bracket bolted to the bottom of the cooler and the bottom radiator support panel. the top is just atteched to the power steering lines using cable ties, power steering lines are insulated with hose to stop rubbing through.
the cooler is a PWR PWR0/CV8 its the biggest model for a V8, i got it from E-Bay $135 delivered I will just leave the cooler in series then Im also giving the cooling system a birthday with a new water pump and radiator, its already got new hoses thermostat and thermostst cover. And soon to come going to Mechine the head and replace the head gasket with an AU falcon gasket. Its already got the fan controller installed so by the end of it my plans are to have a cooling system able to with-stand the hottest of days even when towing.

With a massive cooler such as yours, I hope you kept it instream with the radiator, or your auto probably wouldnt get up to temp that quickly. That pwr is twice the size of my pwr, and my pwr was twice the size of the factory fitted cooler.
Did you trim down that hose covering the ps cooler? you'll be losing cooling by covering almost half of the cooler with hose? Micky, this is a s**t photo of my mounting, you can see the bottom screw, but the other is screwed on the same mounting up top, I think i used a cable tie over the left hand side like voids, It was pretty firm just with two screws but the tie is just a precaution.

yep my power steering lines are covered with a bit of hose to stop cooler from rubbing, but i figure 95% of my driving is highway so power steering is not working under too much load, maybe slower city driving might pose an issue.
